Our History

1976
The foundations of the Şanlıurfa Cement Factory and the Ergani Cement Factory were established as part of the GAP Project, aiming to contribute to the Turkish economy and provide regional employment. Both factories were part of the publicly owned ÇİTOSAN. The Şanlıurfa Cement Factory, located at the 16th kilometer of the Şanlıurfa-Bozova road, has a planned production capacity of 554,000 tons/year of clinker and 590,000 tons/year of cement. The Ergani Cement Factory, situated at the 2nd kilometer of the Elazığ road, is designed to produce 513,000 tons/year of clinker and 684,000 tons/year of cement.
1984
Ergani Cement Factory began its first cement production and sales
1986
Şanlıurfa Cement Factory began its first cement production and sales.
1993
Şanlıurfa Cement Factory was privatized.
2003
The factories were taken over by the Savings Deposit Insurance Fund (SDIF).
2005
Şanlıurfa Cement Factory was acquired by Türkerler Holding.
2006
Ergani Cement Factory was incorporated into Limak Holding.
2007
Şanlıurfa Cement Factory joined Limak Holding.
